    MRS.COLORBERRY: history of success

TODAY OUR EDITORIAL OF ROYAL DESIGN IS GLAD TO INTRODUCE THE RUBRIC "HISTORY OF SUCCESS" TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR FAVORITE READERS. HERE STEPHANI WALBERER WILL TELL ABOUT HER WORK, MAIN PLANS IN HER LIFE AND FOR THE FUTURE.

MRS.COLORBERRY is best known for her magical geode resin artworks and the unique geode side tables (design patented). She has been featured online on art insider and many more.

COLOR: Because all my artworks are colorful. I don`t like to pour only black&white – i have to use COLORS! And if you look at a colorful painting, you get happy, right? And I am happy with the things I am able to do.
BERRY: I love eating berries – all kind of … if there is a strawberry cake in the kitchen and you leave me alone with it, there will be only the pastry left with the berries on top. BERRY is also a very feminine word, a word you combine with summer, a word you combine with the nature and the love of mother nature. And just nearby, my favorite colors are all the colors of a berry.

Could you share with us the meaning behind the name Mrs. Colorberry?

My original name is Stephanie Walberer, and i am from Germany. Even for the German people it is hard to understand my name correctly. So I just had to find another, more easier name for me and my art. A name, which everybody in the world understands.

Stephanie, when and how did you get into creating geode resin art?

I visited a mineral show in Germany last year, only just for fun. At this time I already was a resin artist and addicted to pour on quite everything u can imagine ( this is a point all resin artists suffer from *haha*).

When I saw those beautiful, high gloss and sparkling geodes, agates, healing stones, I fell in love with them and that was the moment I thought: „Okay, MRS.COLORBERRY, let`s pour geodes!“. Because resin has also a high gloss finish, this idea was born.

Stephanie, how long does each piece take?

There is no general time for one piece… some pieces are poured very quickly in 2-3 hours and then they are done. But if you want to add layers, effects, stones, glitters, highlights, I takes me sometimes up to 4 weeks… but painting/pouring is a process. It`s starts with an imagination you have, the choose of the perfect surface, preparing the surface, cutting the edges (sometimes), drawing the lines, think about a good color combination, preparing your art room etc. so… let me say it like this: „it takes what it takes. It`s not about the duration, it`s about the result of the artwork! “

What is the most challenging process of creating a piece?

The most challenging process has a name: RESIN. this is the medium I am working with and it is not as easy as it looks like. Resin is a very unique, sticky and tricky medium which has it`s one head – like me. It needs a lot of experience to control it. So this is actually the challenge: when two bullheads meet each other.

You are best known your magical geode resin artworks and the unique geode side tables (design patented), what made you dabble into the world of luxury furniture & housewares?

My mam is an interior designer for curtains and has her business running since I was a child. So I grew up with a feeling for colors, designs and interior. I studied textile management and traveled around the world to learn ( NewYork, NewDelhi, etc.). So I met different people in different countries and all of them have one in common: they love their homes/ so there was one day I was taking some measurements for curtains and the customer was so sad that he haven`t found the perfect artwork for his wall – so I just bought a canvas and started painting with acrylics. And after some time resin crossed my art journey and changed my whole live as an artist. RESIN /this is the medium i am working with and it is not as easy as it looks like. Resin is a very unique, sticky and tricky medium which has it`s one head – like me. It needs a lot of experience to control it. So this is actually the challenge: when two bullheads meet each other.

Where do you get inspiration from?

The biggest inspiration for me is mother nature. She is the goddess of shapes, structures and awesome color combinations. Just have a look at some of mother nature`s healing stones. There is so much detail love in each piece. I started recently to collect healing stones for myself and if u need some inspiration, I just sit in front of them and watch them.

How do you think social media has helped artists like yourself share their work on a global platform?

Social media like Instagram is for me the most important platform and I totally underestimated it! One year ago, I started with Instagram, because a friend of mine wants me to be on IG. At the beginning it`s very hard, because u compare yourself with all the other accounts, which achieved 50K, 90K or much much higher … and you gained only 10 followers *haha*. I was celebrating myself when I reached 50 followers … but I am still so so happy for every follower and I love every single one of my followers. There are real friendships coming up!

Being successful on IG needs a lot of knowledge, so I visited a workshop for social media basics. I learned a lot there, but I am still learning…

Of course u can buy followers – some do – me not. Because I want to have real followers, real art lovers, real art colleagues, real COLORBERRY friends.

So to sum it up: YES, social media helps a lot! But if u start doing it, u have to live it! That`s the key

What are your dreams for the future of Mrs. Colorberry?

My dreams? Oh well…. I am a person who lives in the NOW! I wanna inspired NOW people. I wanna create NOW my artwork. U only live once and u never know what`s coming tomorrow. But , yes, I have a vision – just called it vision – I would love to have my own resin brand with different colors to offer. Well, the resin color collections are already planned and coming soon. But in generall I want to make people happy with the COLORBERRY WAY…. If they are creative they can get inspired by me. If they wanna have a highlight in their homes, they can buy my art….and being a role model for all artists that they should NEVER GIVE UP and just keep on doing !!!
